Subhashita:
पुस्तकस्था तु या विद्या परहस्तगतं धनम् ।
कार्यकाले समुत्पन्ने न सा विद्या न तद्धनम् ॥
Words meaning:
पुस्तकस्था= Stayed in books
तु= that
या= Which
विद्या= Knowledge
परहस्त= other's hands
गतं= went
धनम्= wealth/ money
कार्यकाले= in need/ needed time
समुत्पन्ने= arisen
न= not
सा= That
विद्या= Knowledge
न= not
तद्धनम्- तत्= that + धनम्= wealth/ money
Meaning of the Subhashita:
The knowledge which is there only in the books (but not in the mind/ brain) and
also the Money/ Wealth given to others, both will not be available for us when its really needed.
ಕೇವಲ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಜ್ಞಾನ (ಆದರೆ ಮೆದುಳಿನಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ) ಮತ್ತು
ಇತರರಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಹಣ/ ಸಂಪತ್ತು, ಎರಡೂ ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದ್ದಾಗ ನಮಗೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.जो ज्ञान सिर्फ किताबों में है (लेकिन दिमाग में नहीं) और
साथ ही, दूसरों को दिया गया धन/धन, दोनों ही हमारे लिए तब उपलब्ध नहीं होगा जब इसकी वास्तव में आवश्यकता होगी।
