आलस्यं= Laziness

मनुष्याणां= among people
शरीरस्थो= Staying in Body

रिपुः= Enemy
नास्त्युद्यमसमो- न= not + अस्ति= there + उद्यम= Hard work/ effort + समो= equal to
बन्धुः= well wisher/ friend/ relative

नावसीदति- न= not + अवसीदति= perish
Meaning of the Subhashita:
Laziness is the greatest enemy of the human beings, and the efforts/ hard work is the best well wisher/ friend/ relative.
Hard work/ effort will not perish (without good results)
ಸೋಮಾರಿತನವು ಮಾನವನ ಅತಿದೊಡ್ಡ ಶತ್ರು, ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳು/ ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮವು ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಹಿತೈಷಿ/ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತ/ ಸಂಬಂಧಿ. (ಉತ್ತಮ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶವಿಲ್ಲದೆ) ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮ/ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ನಾಶವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
आलस्य हि मनुष्य का सबसे बड़ा दुश्मन है, और मेहनत/प्रयास हि सबसे अच्छा चाहने वाला/मित्र/रिश्तेदार है। मेहनत/प्रयास (अच्छे परिणाम के बिना) नाश नहीं होगा |
